Somewhere in New York, a group of Mexicans gather in preparation of a flamboyant feast full of great show events to honor Santa Muerte, oftentimes also called La Flanca (The Bony Lady). She is the deity of villains, drug dealers and prostitutes, of all those who life on the margins of society and seek solace. The driving force and center of the whole event is Arely Vazquez, a devout Catholic and transgender woman who found her belief in Santa Muerte during her sex transformation. But this year, the festivities are ill-fated and Arely has to face unimagined dangers to keep a pledge she has made ten years ago.
