The Dutch director of photography Robby Müller worked with directors like Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch and Lars von Trier. His obsessive search for the ultimate light might have blown quite a few schedules, but it also rewarded him with Deutscher Filmpreis and Camera d'Or for best cinematographer. For this film, the director Claire Pijman accessed over thousand hours of private video material, films, fotos and polaroids. With thoughtful editing and music specially composed by Jim Jarmusch, she compiled a haunting, visually powerful portrait of the master of light.
