When public spaces, the parliament and editorial departments are being challenged by rightwing populism and the refugee crisis, it is worth to take stock of the political formation of opinion in Germany. Marketplaces in Dresden and public houses in Saxony are also places of discourse like editorial departments of the Bild-Zeitung and the taz, the central studio of ARD and the MDR and conference rooms of parliament. All these places represent a cross section of parallel political realities that gear into each other and clash together.
