Barricade // Pictures of a Forest Occupation

In October 2019, the Dannenröder forest was occupied by about a hundred climate activists who wanted to prevent the clearing of land for the further construction of the A49 motorway. The squatters erected barricades on the forest paths and villages of tree houses in which they live themselves. With the beginning of the logging season, in September 2020, the clearance of the structures and corridor begins. With creativity, courage and music, the squatters resist and engage in civil disobedience until December 8, 2020, when the last tree falls, and with it what was the first and now last tree house.
