Monika Treut is considered a pioneer of queer feminist cinema. Since the early 80s she has been making both feature films and documentaries about gender diversity. With GENDERATION she returns to San Francisco, birthplace of the trans movement, where her legendary film "Gendernauts" was made in 1998, which today is a paradise lost to the tech companies of Silicon Valley. But their protagonists continue to live their dream as they grow older, fighting as creatives and activists against the global shift to the right, among other things.
