Lack of care workers and the mass dismissals of care staff, in addition to the fact that people are getting older and are increasingly affected by dementia – all this does not make us optimistic about the future of an ageing society. And yet there are alternatives, as the example of the small nursing home “Dagmarsminde” in Denmark shows. Inspired by Florence Nightingale’s methods, which are 150 years old, the focus here is not on medicine, but on hugs, conversations and care. A film that shows how things might be different.
