Leipzig in a period of change. The upheaval of Autumn 1989 is followed by a hectic electoral campaign in Spring 1990. Reunification will come soon. In this film, nocturnal conversations with street sweepers are dominated by hopelessness and broken self-confidence, but one can also rec- ognize a keen sensitivity for the changes in the social climate. Despite their lack of illusions, the street sweepers have an acute view of their sur- roundings, for them only one certainty prevails: there will always be dirt.
