A Russian oligarch commissions Renzo Piano to transform GES-2, a former power plant, into a contemporary art space. The 36,000-square-metre exhibition space is now meant to infuse creative energy into the veins of the capital. This documentary spends five years observing the tremendous transformation, following the architect, the di- rector, the construction workers, and the security guards, and with a generous helping of humor, provides insights into the creation of a cultural powerhouse directly opposite the Kremlin.
