CN: Thematization of sexualized violence
DE FACTO ranks among the most intensely discussed films of the current festival year since its premiere at the Forum of the Berlinale. Two actors take turns speaking texts at a fast pace in front of the camera: confessions of perpetrators and legitimations, memories of routinely carried out massacres, sexualized violence, torture, executions. Selma Doborac negotiates with a clear and confident filmic form what the distancing from violence and taking a stand on violence can and should mean for artists and the audience. (Dennis Vetter)
