Umberto Eco – A Library of the World

| Umberto Eco – A Library of the World
(Gloria)

The private library of the writer, philosopher and semiotician Umberto Eco, who died in 2016, comprises around 30,000 titles and became the property of the Italian state after the death of the author of "The Name of the Rose". In older interviews with Eco himself, conversations with his contemporaries, archive material and new footage, Davide Ferrario explores his bibliophilia. The film is a declaration of love to the world of libraries as well as a loving bow to perhaps the last polymath of our time. (Joachim Kurz)
