Along with the biographies of Berlin's most legendary bouncers, Sven Marquardt, Smiley Baldwin and Frank Künster, the film offers insights into their work and lives and tells the story of Berlin's cultural history – from the divided city through the reorientation of the 90s to the vibrant present. David Dietl accompanied the protagonists over several years and after all talks about growing up with 50: "When I depart this life, I'll definitely come to such a Hieronimus Bosch limbo, where I always knock somewhere and then: no, not you." (Marquardt).
