OUT OF PLACE

OUT OF PLACE accompanies three teenagers during an educational project in Romania. They live in the rural idyll of Transylvania because they have become criminal in their homeland Germany, taken drugs or denied the school and were classified as “not integrable”. The boys are supposed to spend a long phase of their puberty in Romania. Isolated from their original environment, they now work on the farms of the local farming families and are prepared by a team of German educators for a life that is adapted back in Germany.
