Nou voix

An autobiographic film that describes a piece of film history and makes voices heard that are not in the film itself. The father of the filmmaker was himself an actor in the 1990 film Jean Galmot aventuier. He played one of the defendants in the process of Nantes after the riots which lead to the death of Jean Galmot in Guyana. We see him in the scene after the acquittal of the defendants. How does the film fit into the colonial history of the country? What does it tell, and on what memories is it based? Father and son investigate these questions in microscopically small, detailed analyses, butting in, re-writing and intervening in powerful policies of remembering.
