At the age of 15, Hans Bär fled to Argentina with his Jewish family. Eighty years later, he returns to the German village, he was born, triggering a media hype. The filmmaker's grandfather is the last living friend and also the eldest in town. On the basis of pictures and discussions in Argentina and Germany, the story of Hans Baer is fragmentarily taken up. Different perspectives of individual and collective historiography are examined for their contents and blanks.
