The river Tara, located in the south of Italy near the seaport Taranto, attracts many who believe it has healing powers. Here, in this traditional place full of myths, they find community, lush nature and freshness on hot summer days. But the area around the ILVA steelworks is polluted by masses of dust and emissions. As the region’s largest employer, the steel giant permeates all social strata– whether it’s fighting a landfill or because people work there.
