It’s summer and all of France is preparing for vacations. Zohra is also just waiting for the extension of her residence permit, then she will leave for Algeria. She lives in a small banlieue and her summer began with the end of a long history of illness. For the first time in her life, Zohra can walk upright, almost pain-free. But the expected extension of Zohra’s residence permit never happens: With the end of her treatment, Zohra loses her status in France. She becomes an invisible protagonist, for her environment as well as for the audience. (Jens Geiger-Kiran)
