Absent Present
The film tells the story of an extended Palestinian family living in the heart of Israel. The members of the Jabarine family talk about their lives in a country which they may call home, but which doesn't feel like home to them, a status that they themselves describe as "absent-present". Moving beyond familiar conflict tropes, the young directors succeed in painting an entertaining and affecting portrait of a family that has been advocating for years for a peace that affects the whole world.
