Midsummer Night's Tango

Midsummer Night's Tango

According to Aki Kaurismäki, tango is originally from Finland. "That's insane!" think three Argentinean tango musicians and board a flight from Buenos Aires to Helsinki posthaste to get to the bottom of this theory. In a cast-off compact car, they head across country and visit Finnish dance floors and tango greats like Reijo Taipale, Markus Allan and M.A. Numminen. Along with many magical musical escapades, their encounters also result in many comical and heartwarming moments, as the shy Finns and the extroverted Argentineans find their own way to communicate. An amusing musical road movie and a love letter to absurdity.
