From the Sideline

Peter Brückner is said to be a father figure of the students’ revolt: A leftist Professor and sympathizer of the RAF, who was confronted with a ban from his profession twice, which was revoked both times and yet still remained effective. The "Half-Jew" from the off died at the age of 60 and was forgotten soon afterwards. Simon, his youngest son and only 4 years old when his father died, undergoes a search for his father like an archaeologist. He opens archives and people, who knew him. What comes to light is a luminous figure, not without flaws.
