Mr Sedláček was writing one-sentence entries in his chronicle from 1981 to 2005. The chronicle includes everyday stories of his and his family's life, the life of the village and its surroundings, as well as international events. The real chronicle has more than two thousand daily notes. The authors picked forty-six, which provide a concentrated overview of Mr. Sedláček's life and of our society.

1973
Scenes of daily life on the banks of the Danube in Serbia; little or nothing seems to happen for these men stranded at the port along with the boats. Guided by a protagonist who is at the same time endearing yet a little naive and quirky, the discussions touch on economics, moths, the old songs from their youth, in fashion in the 1970s. A sensitive observational film about a society put on hold.

Our Curse
A personal statement of the director and his wife, who have to deal with an incurable disease of their newborn son – the Ondine’s Curse (CCHS). People affected with this disease require lifetime mechanical ventilation on a ventilator. The film shows the first few months after the diagnosis. At the beginning, the child is still in hospital, but soon he comes home, with all his medical equipment. The parents are left alone to cope with all the medical issues associated with the disease, and with the constant fear for their son.

Cats in Riga
For a seasoned filmmaker, focusing on another creature than man is a pleasure. A creature who doesn't give a shit about the meaning of life while in the background, blurred, all the turmoil of man is still there, the war mongering, the pretentiousness, the eagerness to please. My protagonists are beautiful lovers, arrogant killers, serious sleepers, and, if you caress them, they will scratch you right away or love you shortly before they kill you. And nobody plays the grand piano better than a cat who couldn't care less about harmony, walking down a dilapidated keyboard in Riga, Latvia.
