Walchensee Forever

The director Janna Ji Wonders returns home to the Bavarian mountain idyll at Walchensee to trace a century of family history. She focuses on three generations of women and their relationship to each other in the change of time. With an extensive selection of archive footage, she sketches the turning points and points of conflict of the generation of her mother and grandmother. A poetic journey of discovery unfolds, in which questions of identity, home, tradition, and self-realization are asked, but the search for love, life, and death is also addressed.
