In their debut film, the directing duo Balestreri and Lachaud transport the ghouls and ghosts of a bygone era of American film culture into a niche of the current Texas music scene. Fragments from horror films of the 1960s and 70s alternate with virtuosically filmed passages and concert excerpts. The performative and disturbing aspects of the work of artists such as Mother Fakir or Attic Ted, who are celebrated by an ever-growing fanbase, also become apparent. TEXAS TRIP is a documentary, sometimes a cacophonic piece of art.
