Sherpa Ngada is offered a job to guide a group of mountaineers on an expedition up Kumbhakarna mountain. That peak is dangerous and a holy place in the Kirat faith. His wife urges him not to desecrate “god’s house“. But their son wants to study to become doctor, so Ngada agrees to do it. The mountaineers don’t see the necessity for a religious ceremony to calm the gods. And as Ngada deems the weather too risky to start the ascent, they try to change his mind.
