Paracapitalism

(BALi, KulturBahnhof Kassel)

About 100 years ago Max Weber identified the demystification of the world through science and rationality. The program PARACAPITIALISM doubts that as it exhibits how capital and technology enter ever new liaisons with the supernatural. Witchcraft seems to be a neoliberal vocation; new up-to-date devices regularly summon unknown spirits. But even beyond those spiritistic circles, „the eerie“ (Mark Fisher) resonates. Common ghosts haunt our globe as orphaned properties, or the magically self-regulated market captivate us more than ever. (Theresa George)
