Stories of Dads

Six people talk candidly in front of the camera about their fathers. These are stories full of protection and warmth, but also full of suffering. Stories of absence and painful longing, all captured in gently conducted interviews against a neutral background. What is normally considered a "no-go" of documentary film – the so-called "talking heads" – has a completely different effect here: they force us to look closely and listen to the fates that are being laid out here.
