The cinematic urban explorations by the Hamburg-based Artist Group A Wall Is a Screen bring life to the vespertine Kassel and illuminate its hidden and unknown corners. Together with the audience and their mobile projection technology, A Wall Is a Screen moves through the urban space and presents short films at different locations. Unlike the usual reception in the cinema space, the site specific screening presents short films in a new context. This special one-time event is a mixture between pop-up cinema and visual intervention and thus re-defining the public space.
The event takes place in cooperation with the Sozialer Friedensdienst Kassel e.V. The film selection will be part of a workshop in which the practice of site-specific film projection and film in public space will be introduced and discussed. In addition, the participants will get to know the technical parameters and content of A Wall Is a Screen.
Free open air short film tour. The tour takes about 90 minutes. The event will take place by any weather. Meeting point: Wilhelmshöher Allee 19–21
