After the separation of the territories in the former Yugoslavia, the relations between the respective countries are complex and multi-faceted. Now contemporary witnesses are needed to put together the set pieces of the common history and find new approaches and cooperation between the divided national borders. CHASING THE SUN: EL SHATT touches on some historical facts about the largest refugee camp El Shatt in the Sinai desert in Egypt during the Second World War, based on materials from Croatian and international archives and intertwined with the visuals of a non-place desert. INVOKED is a tragic ready-made comedy about a historical event that preceded Yugoslav Wars. After 45 years of single-party communist rule in Serbia, political parties gained legal status in 1990, and the first multiparty elections in Serbian history were held. Five ex-presidential candidates, today’s misfits, bring back memories of the elections and relive that crucial event, not realizing that they played only supporting roles.
