Smoke Sauna Sisterhood

Since 2014, the Estonian tradition of the smoke sauna has been included in the UNESCO list of Intangible World Cultural Heritage. The filmmaker Anna Hints chooses a very personal and extremely moving approach to this subject: Together with a group of women of different ages, the camera moves through the archaic-looking sweat lodges and listens to the stories of the sisterhood that has found itself here in the dark to confide in each other.
