On 31 August 2021, four weeks before the German federal elections, young people in Berlin go on hunger strike to draw politicians' attention to the accelerating climate crisis. Felix Bühler accompanies some of them in further actions of different initiatives: These include “Ende Gelände”, “Extinction Rebellion”, “Lila Finger.” They take place at Hambacher Forst, Lützerath, the coal-fired power plant in Moorburg and include street blockades by Letzte Generation. Again and again, the activist friends who dedicate their lives to protest discuss how they can really make a difference, how they can stop this destructive madness. (Livia Theuer)
