After the death of her grandfather, filmmaker Astrid Wenzel's grandmother, who suffers from dementia, comes to live in a retirement home. Her granddaughter, however, is not unaffected by her grandmother's slow decline and so she decides, together with her brother Hendric, to take her on a two-week canoe trip from Bremen to Kiel. While her grandmother enjoys the trip on the water, the nights in particular become more and more exhausting for Astrid and her brother. From an internal perspective the film cautiously approaches the challenging way relatives deal with family members suffering from dementia. (Joachim Kurz)
