The Valley

THE VALLEY uses a small village on the West-Coast of Norway as a prism to look at global transitions related to production and economy: In the old textile factory, a server park mining for bitcoin, has replaced the traditional industry. Algo-Rhythm

Convenience, not choice. Efficiency, not freedom. Frictionless experience: a data musical against automated propaganda. Shot with the participation of leading Senegalese musicians, poets and graffiti artists, ALGO-RHYTHM probes the insidious but comprehensive threats to human rights and agency posed by the rise of the quantification and algorithmic management of daily life. Pattern Cognition

“When you stare at a screen for long, the screen stares back at you.” It starts with a ripple on the pixel ocean and ends deep inside the guts of the screen: A color rush, a trip, between horror and absolute bliss, between overload and weightlessness. PATTERN COGNITION uses the entirety of abstract and experimental film’s bag of tricks to smother the cinema space, swallow its viewers and push through the membrane of the screen. Sublime abstraction, overwhelming, terrifying and beautiful at the same time.… >>>

Volcano: What Does a Lake Dream?

The Azores Archipelago is a unique place in the Atlantic Ocean, situated on the Triple Junction between three tectonic plates. This creates a geological mythical land, where history can be explored both scientifically but also imagined from a fictional standpoint. Volcanoes emerge from the depths of the boiling earth to destroy and create the stories written on the surface, making way for an abstract language eruption. A 16-mm film whose surface pulsates like the volcanic earth of the island it depicts.… >>>
