SWARM SEASON centers around Mauna Kea Volcano in Hawaii. Here, Manu and her Mother collect wild bees for breeding disease resistant colonies and her father protests the construction of a giant telescope on the sacred mountain. In the meantime, a group of scientists completes a simulation of a mission to Mars... SWARM SEASON is an experimental, impressionistic film essay with ethereal images and a complex sound design. In the juxtaposition of the spiritual and the factual, the film touches the evolutionary, ecological, metaphysical and cosmological issues of our time.
