Cruising gives movement to desire. All the more, when it’s outside of the heteronormative frame. For that, the public is no safe space, but if you want to pick somebody up, you’ve got to go out sometime. Drive off, take off, get down – the engine is running, the train glides through the rails, the chrome flashes, the city sends exciting signals. Showing yourself, becoming visible only for some, that’s the game. The medium film works with movement, stable identities become fluid, gen- der relations become unfixed. A new order is yet to be in sight. The films in this program are road movies without an aim, they unveil their appeal in transition, and means of transportation become objects of desire themselves. Stay at home at your own fault.(Jan Künemund)
