Squirrels, jays, acorn borers and many more inhabit the majestic protagonist of this film: a 210-year-old oak tree. In this touching homage to one of Europe's most important deciduous trees, we experience the everyday animal life and nocturnal adventures of its inhabitants. Their destiny is determined by the oak: it welcomes its lodgers, lets them feed on it and provides shelter and a nursery. Without a human narrative voice, we can marvel at the neighbourly coexistence of the animals and many a love affair through the changing seasons.
