Welcome Class

People with different cultural backgrounds are sitting together in a classroom and are listening to their own dialogs. We are in a high school in Berlin Lichtenberg in a so-called “welcome class”. The ultimate goal of these classes is to acquire language skills and develop a basis for integration. Teachers and students talk about their experiences and impressions. How can this different knowledge get into a productive exchange? Who learns from whom and how? The model “welcome class” is both offer of integration and rules.
