“But why go visit a museum? How about going back into the cave instead?” (TRICKY DISCO). The museumization of techno, the demise of clubs as places of resistance: Memories of the Omen in Frankfurt or the Pacific Club in La Défense reveal structural power relations in terms of colonial appropriation strategies, racist practices, capitalist constraints – until today. Where can bodies still sway together in civil disobedience? The closing performance CINEMOON transforms the cinema space into a hallucinatory cave of light and invites us to play with our perception. (Jessica Manstetten)

CINEMOON illuminates the cinema cave.
Media-reflexive as “The Flicker” (Tony Conrads), the perceptual dispositive opens up and we see cinematographic modernity itself. Where the distinction between perception and deception blurs, it becomes tangible. We see what deceives us, how perceptual hallucinations are created from light.
CINEMOON extends the radically reduced pre-semantic iteration light-dark-light-dark by a circular rotation – loops forward, so to speak. And: music.
