Seekers

Sooner or later we all feel a need to examine our point of origin and ask ourselves, where and how we want to be in this world. Dreams can be a powerful guide, but we sometimes need a time out from demands we feel pressing down on us. The protagonists of these three films go on a journey. Whether it happens only in their mind, actually means revisiting places of the past, plunging into anonymity or discovering new worlds – a change of perspective brings more clarity.

From To

From To

Public institutions, waiting rooms, public transportation are places with different names, but with the same character. One stays in them in order to be somewhere else. These are places “in between,” the places of temporality and exclusiveness which communicate to everyone in the same way, conventionally, without interest for individuals. One feels anxiety and “solitude echoing millions of others” (Marc Augé), or even a relief in the anonymity of a temporary identity, and a wish to merge with nonidentity?

Baby Bird, Unborn

Baby Bird, Unborn

A film about dreaming and escaping to a place where abilities are unlimited. My biggest dream is to get away from this, from reality and arrive in a world where my capacities are not as limited as they actually are, where I can fly for example. Another dream is surpassing the line between life and death, to be able to go to the other side and come back, to visit those that have parted. Another dream is of love, for exampe to be constantly in love. To be happy you have to do what you wish, what you desire at any moment without thinking of profit or benefits. And above all freedom, a concept so hackneyed that is sounds tacky but the truth is that freedom is fundamental in life and people lose it constantly for other things or ideas. Being free makes you really happy.

The Final Call

The Final Call

Combining found footage and cell phone video filmed in Japan and Easter Island, THE FINAL CALL is a reflection on the nature of memory, and how, in the face of a catastrophe, we are forced to position ourselves within the spiritual and political legacies of previous generations.
