Im System

Großes BALi, 16:00 h

Social forces have an influence on all of us. Quasi abstract, dull and then entirely direct and brutal. They appear in different forms: regular routines, fixed relations, tacit conventions, insurmountable obstacle. The four films of this program are dedicated to protagonists, who shed led on the forces they are exposed to. They speak about them and make them in this way visible, audible and sensible. At the same time the roles of the filmmakers become a topic too. They act from different angles and also deal with the fundamental questions of how one can actually speak about these forces.

Fragments of a German Life

Fragments of a German Life

Indescribably painful sorrow at the center. While intermitting through time FRAGMENTS OF A GERMAN LIFE unfolds a very personal but also exemplary family story in Germany. It addresses the direct and indirect power of governmental administration and regulations and how it inscribes into biographies amidst an abstract migration crises. As it looks for different, resisting images and narratives, it gets apparent that forgetting and ignoring this power and violence has also a political dimension.
