Forms of Consideration

Großes BALi, 09:15 h

The program is a journey that deals with different kinds of seeing. The adventure to see with eyes closed how professional observing is lethal, watching different living spaces and the associative consideration of real urban live and personal imagination.

Let there Be Night

Let there Be Night

Somewhere in a park, two strangers are resting. One of them, facing the sky, is a teenager called Attila ; the other, sleeping and looking older, is Benjamin. Attila gets up. Benjamin holds him by the arm to help him walking. Attila is blind but he knows where he is going. In a world of shadows, he teaches Benjamin how to play a game, and as the sun goes down, they become friends.

Find Fix Finish

Find Fix Finish

Find Fix Finish delves into the accounts of three military drone pilots as they tell the intimate story of the lives they observe on a day-to-day basis. The voyeuristic ocular perspective from a military drone can reduce people to pixels on a screen and a certain decontextualisation is almost necessary to deal with the fact that people can be killed on a push of a button. “Have you ever stepped on an anthill and not given it a second thought?”.

In Search of the Land without Evil

In Search of the Land without Evil

In Guarani mythology, the land without evil is where, finally, people find peace. On the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, the landless indigenous group rebuilt their small village, their aldeia called Ka´aguyhovy Porã (Pretty Green Forest).  At the village children grow up among old traditions, like the Guarani language, and expressions of contemporary urban culture, such as rap music. There is always the tension that one day 'the owners of the land' will rise up and the Guaranis will be forced once again to leave in search of the land without evil.

11.9.

11.9.

The Film "9.11." deals with the final part of the US American electoral campaign. It shows the "Women's National Democratic Club" on Election Night, as well as participants on a demonstration at The White House and the immediate aftermath of the election. The recording of the actions is a direct view of the attendants. The physical closeness to the filmed people shows first reactions of the shocked votership in the democratic US capital Washington D.C..

Mother They Kicked You off the Pedestal

Mother They Kicked You off the Pedestal

Sunflowers

Sunflowers

The form of the sunflower divides our view of city life, juxtaposing three moments in time that create a dialogue with one another. This film was created using multiple expositions and a circular matte to create a distinct vision of city life in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  The competing images and displacement of time creates new associations with the images we perceive.
